this is an "ambiguous space" painting for my oil painting class. I absolutely hated this project. It just about hit every OCD of space and perception and perfection that I have towards art. It took me forever to finish and I was completely unenthusiastic about the whole thing! i ran out of ideas for the painting and ended up just covering it with randomly shaded shapes to give the illusion of me giving a damn.
i had to stretch the canvas myself and build the frame so my materials are : 1/2 inch quarter rounds. nailed to 1 inch plywood. duck canvas (7 bucks at joanns) stretched over the frame and oil paints applied with shabby nylon brushes of aaaalll sizes!!
HAHA!! oh good im not alone!! i swear, if it weren't for due dates, i would never get ONE painting finished. i have so many undone canvas's laying around. I should probably start using this philosophy more often! lol. in any case, i sincerely thank you for your positive comment and hope you enjoy any other pieces i do.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
